Water Filtration

Water filtration is the most effective way of ensuring that the quality of water is achieved providing the water filters are properly maintained.

Drinking Water

Water filters are a more environmentally friendly, convenient and cost effective alternative to bottled water deliveries.  It is an accepted means by which employers, on behalf of their employees and private individuals ensure proper hydration, meet their duty of care and most importantly provide great tasting drinking water.   We still however see a strong demand for bottled water because it continues to meet customer needs.  For more information please see our consumer guide to water filtration.

Other applications include:

  • Sediment filtration such as dirt, rust, scale and algae
  • Sub-micron and Ultra-filtration such as bacteria and virus removal
  • Removal of hardness minerals to reduce plumbing corrosion, cleaning chemicals, scale build-up and power consumption.
  • Removal of heavy metals and other inorganics
  • Removal of pollution contaminants such as herbicides, pesticides, fuels and detergents
  • Removal of colour tastes and odours
  • Ultraviolet sanitisation

Solutions to water filter needs will be determined by the:

  • Feed water type - town water, rain, dam, river, bore or grey water
  • Is the water chlorinated?
  • Existing filtration
  • Catchment type
  • Flow
  • Problems - what are the desired outcomes?
  • Peak demand flow rate
  • Water Pressure
  • Water analysis
  • Storage requirements
  • Plumbing pipe sizes
  • Point-of-use (eg - under-sink) or point-of-entry to premises
  • Type of use
  • Number of people to be catered for
  • Pump specifications
  • Maintenance requirements
  • Budget available
  • Temporary or permanent requirements

Remember that the most expensive water filter is the one which is purchased that does not suit the need.

Other important considerations:

  • Independent third party water filter certifications
  • Are the filters exclusive to a particular supplier/manufacturer or are they industry standard?
  • Price, advice and back-up maintenance
